Take your phone to any vendor to be repaired

  • What does it mean if I choose my own repair vendor (out-of-network repair)?
    • bolt allows their customers to take the claimed device to a repair provider of their choosing. 
    • This means that you can select any repair provider to repair your device.
    • However, since these repair providers are not our preferred network, you as the customer will need to pay for the repair out of pocket, collect a receipt and upload it the claims portal to be reimbursed for the repair, less any applicable deductible.
  • What is the difference between using a preferred vendor or choosing my own (out-of-network)?
    • There will be no record of the claim when you go to an out-of-network provider. 
    • You will be required to pay out of pocket to cover the cost of the repair
      • NOTE: There are no out-of-pocket costs when you choose one of our preferred repair vendors
    • If the device is deemed unrepairable by the repair vendor, you will be responsible for collecting a diagnostic report from the vendor, showing the reason it cannot be repaired
  • How it works
    • Create a claim using bolts claim portal.
    • Select out-of-network repair.
    • Go to the repair store of your choosing and have your device repaired. 
    • Pay the repair costs to the store. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT 
      • Your receipt is required for reimbursement 
    • Log back on to your bolt claims portal.
    • Upload the receipt to the device's claim.
    • Once the receipt is uploaded, bolt will review it and send instructions on how to claim your reimbursement.
What happens if my device is unrepairable
    • If the out-of-network repair store deems your device unrepairable, take the following action. 
    • The store will give you an estimate or diagnostic report for the unrepairable device. It is important to keep this receipt; it is proof that you took the device to the store. 
    • Log back on to your bolt claims portal.
    • Upload the unrepairable receipt to the device's claim 
    • bolt will review the uploaded receipt, and your claim will be processed and fulfilled with a reimbursement for your damaged device
    • You will receive an email with instructions on how to claim your reimbursement.
