What's Covered by the Protection Plan

BackMarket offers 2 plans

  • Accidental Damage/ Full Coverage plans include coverage for accidents like drops, cracked screens, and water damage during the offer period. Note that Accidental Damage plans include Extended Warranty coverage for the duration of the chosen plan.
  • Extended Warranty Only plans provide enhanced breakdown protection after the expiration of the 1-year limited warranty offered by the Seller and for the duration of the purchased program, including repair or reimbursement of the device's replacement value if it cannot be repaired.

The Protection Plan doesn't cover theft and loss, cosmetic, or intentional damage to your device.

Please note that there's a service fee for smartphone claims. After your claim is accepted, you’ll need to pay the service fee with a valid credit or debit card before service or reimbursement is provided. The fee amount will be based on the phone’s purchase price and whether the phone has to be repaired or replaced. Tablets, laptops, and other items don’t have service fees.

What’s the difference between the seller's warranty and insurance?

The 12-month minimum warranty is included for every purchase on BackMarket. This warranty covers defects and functionality issues.

If you’re having issues with your device and want to use the warranty, you can contact BackMarket directly about it from your BackMarket account by selecting “Get help” next to the order.

With the extra insurance, you can get full accidental damage coverage through bolt.

More information on the warranty can be found here: Seller's 1-year Warranty
